About Bangalore

When people visit Bangalore, India, most of the time, they are just passing through. Either they’re on a business trip or a leisure one but just stopping over the city for their connecting flight to their travel destination. However, there are a million different reasons to stay and hang around the city. Most people just don’t know what to expect from the capital city of Karnataka. That’s why there’s not much interest in visiting the city. Bangalore has been known to be the “Silicon Valley of India” and that’s just about it. It really just sounds business-like and very technical; people can’t seem to connect “fun” somewhere in there and so it’s not really the first thing to come in mind when people think about traveling. But that’s where most people are wrong! Bangalore city actually offers so much more than what most people think it can. Aside from being the information technology center of the country, they have forgotten that this place is also known as India’s Garden City. The city is blessed with clean and beautiful gardens, lakes, parks, architectural attractions, shopping establishments, and many more including business opportunities. So traveling to Bangalore can be both a leisure and business trip at the same time. Again more reasons to come to India’s third most heavily populated city. But once you’re there, the following attractions should not be missed. One of India’s most romantic gardens, Lalbagh Botanical Garden is said to originate from royalties. Hyder Ali, one of the famous Mysore rulers in 1760, initially started this as a private garden. It was developed further by his son, Tipu Sultan, and then the British and Indian experts of horticulture. This garden is home to unusual collection of trees and plants. In 1889, a glasshouse was constructed in honor of the Prince of Wales visit, which is now the garden’s most precious gem. It is famous for accommodating the State Government’s Legislative Chambers but it is not just a building. This structure boasts of its superb Dravidian architectural design and it was built as a tribute to Indian shrine buildings. It is situated at the heart of the city of Bangalore and embellished with remarkable Tudor-style designs and woodcarvings. It includes a huge open square filled with granite seats where many cultural exhibitions, concerts and other programs are held. Another magnificent structure built entirely with wood. It is most recognizable for its pillars made of teak wood. The palace is decorated by Islamic art ornaments with inscriptions that say, “Abode Happiness”. You can visit this place and find some of Tipu Sultans remnants still kept there. This historic park is also known as the Sri Chamarajendra Park. Sri John Meade, the Commissioner of Mysore then, established the park in 1870. It is one of the most calming places in this city. This place is popular to nature lovers and those who love to jog or do walking exercises.
