About Shanghai

The municipality of Shanghai, China is located on the Yangtze River Delta on the eastern coast of China. The world’s largest population is found in the city of Shanghai, China. Shanghai or Hu is a city that is well-known for its influence mostly in finance, economy, culture, science and technology, and in the international trade. It was called Hu because most of the fishermen here created and used the fishing tool which they called Hu. Since the city has many rivers, lakes, canal, streams, and rich water resources, the major source of income of the villagers was fishing ever since. As the city faced modernization, Shanghai becomes the center for commercial and financial trades of the entire China. The rapid development of the city made it as the most prosperous city in China. Because of the large capitalization, trading volumes, and huge investments being operated and traded in Shanghai, it became as one of the fastest growing and developing city throughout the world. It is home to any of the famous and rich industrial and manufacturing companies in the country that has been well known even throughout the world. The transportation in the city provides a lot of options for people and travelers coming in and going out of the city. The routes for urban buses are extensive, the most extensive network from all over the world. More than a thousand bus lines are operating here, including the world’s oldest system for the trolleybus. Shanghai plays an important role in the air, rail, water, and road transportation.
