About Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai, which means new city, is the city of Thailand known for northern rose. It is the most significant city in Thailand and largest as well. In 1296, King MENGRAI founded the city in WIANG NOPBURI, an older city of the LAWA people. Chiang Mai, Thailand is located in the northern part. By which, it is surrounded by mountains. The city possesses the extensive variety of events and more fun, such as thrill and adrenaline attractions. The location of the city makes its topography greener and a peaceful place to visit. A one-time capital city of the LANNA kingdom, Chiang Mai lies in a kingdom of a million rice fields. The city is not only for rice field, but for Buddhist temple as well. In the heart of the city, a moat and some old city wall that is still standing surround it. For about 300 Buddhist temple to explore with, one of the famous is the WAT PHRATHAT DOI SUTHEP. This temple’s built way back 1383 and carries the representation of the city. The other central temple was WAT PHRA SINGH and worth of visiting. Not only that, but you can also enjoy picking up crafted products in the central city. In the RATCHADAMNEON Rd hosted a night bazaar every Sunday. Chiang Mai is not only rich with its land but also with its culture. The city also host different kind of festivals. One of these centenaries, LOI KRATHONG is a festive held on the 12th month in a traditional THAI lunar calendar during full moon. Sky lanterns and banana leaf vessels were launched in honor of the Goddess of Water. The people in the city believe that in this way they can get rid of misfortunes. The other famous festival is the SONGKRAM, in which, a celebration of the THAI New Year. The Chiang Mai flower festival is also one of the most well-known events in the city. The festival took in the month of February with a 3-day activity. This is also when temperate and tropical flowers in full bloom. The city is not only a place for nature aficionados, but also you can enjoy the nightlife. Chiang Mai develops varieties of bars, discos, and live music spots. As you stay in the heart of the city, partying all night is enjoyable. There are so many things to enjoy with your trip in this city. The city is also famous in their massage services that are using herbal elements to release the stress on the individual.
